Over Dimensional Vehicles

A special trip permit can be requested to cover the movement of a vehicle, or combination of vehicles, exceeding City of Lincoln limitations in regards to dimension or weight, which of necessity use the streets of the city to reach its destination.

Please fill out the form PDF completely and return it to transportation@lincoln.ne.gov. Once your application has been received, it will be reviewed. If approved, you will be contacted for payment and the permit and receipt will be sent to you via e-mail. If denied, we will contact you by phone to discuss other possible arrangements. Permits may take up to 24 hours to process, please plan accordingly.

July 4th, 2020 - Independence DayOffice closed July 3rd. Travel not permitted from noon, July 3rd, 2020 until sunrise, July 6th, 2020.

September 7th, 2020 - Labor DayOffice closed. Travel not permitted from sunset, September 4th, 2020 until sunrise, September 8th, 2020.

November 11th, 2020 - Veteran’s DayOffice closed. Travel permitted.

November 26th and 27th, 2020 – Thanksgiving Day and day afterOffice closed. Travel not permitted from noon, November 25th, 2020 until sunrise, November 30th, 2020.

December 25th, 2020 - Christmas DayOffice closed. Travel not permitted from noon, December 24th, 2020 until sunrise, December 26th, 2020.

January 1st, 2021 – New Year’s DayOffice closed. Travel not permitted from noon, December 31st, 2020 until sunrise, January 2nd, 2021.
