27th from Cornhusker to Old Dairy

Turn Lane Construction

This project adds dedicated right-turn lanes off of 27th Street at Fairfield Street, Cather Road and the Super Saver parking lot. Also included in the work are pedestrian safety improvements and traffic signal replacements at 27th & Old Dairy and 27th & Knox.

56th and Morton Drainage Improvement Project

2016 Stormwater Bond

The purpose of this project is to rehabilitate the existing drainage channel to reduce future flood risk and make the channel safer and easier to maintain.

84th and Havelock Improvement Project

Roadway Improvement Project

This roadway improvement project will better accommodate increasing traffic volume due to residential growth and Lancaster County Event Center programming.

2019 Citywide Arterial Street Rehabilitation

Street Rehabilitation Project

The 2019 citywide pavement rehabilitation project includes work on four major streets in the city. At each location street improvements will include mill and overlay of the existing asphalt, pavement repairs, joint sealing and new pavement markings. Pedestrian ramps may be reconstructed to meet federal and local standards, as necessary.


“A” Street from Smoky Hill Road to 98th Street

Water Main Extension

Work will include extending the existing water main to the east in order to better serve new development and a growing customer base. Storm and sanitary sewer infrastructure that serves the development area will be installed at the same time.

Beal Slough Sanitary Sewer Project

Highway 2 from 33rd to 56th

The purpose of this project is to provide additional sanitary sewer capacity to the wastewater collection system in order to accommodate a growing customer base.

  • Completion: Jun. 2020


Cotner Boulevard and “A” Street Area

Water Main Replacement Project

Work will include replacing existing water mains in the area of Cotner Boulevard and “A” Street.

Antelope Park and Rock Island Trail

Storm Drainage Improvement Project

This project includes repairs of the stair structure and bikeway, and installation of storm sewer along the Rock Island Trail from South Street to Calvert Street. The project is necessary to help eliminate standing water in low areas.

Pine Lake from 61st to Highway 2

Widening and Safety Improvement Project

Pine Lake Road is being widened to four lanes from S 61st Street to Highway 2. This project is necessary to increase the capacity of this roadway as a part of the increasing development in southeast Lincoln.

  • Completion: Fall 2019


Rokeby from 70th to 84th

Paving and Safety Improvement Project

This project includes grading and construction of new pavement on Rokeby Road from 70th Street to Carpathian Lane. The project also includes installation of new turn lanes at 70th Street and Rokeby Road, roundabouts at the intersections of Rokeby Road with 73rd and 75th streets, storm sewer improvements, ADA-accessible sidewalks and LED street lights.

  • Completion: Fall 2019


Residential Rehabilitation

Street Rehabilitation Project

These projects will mill and overlay the streets with new asphalt. Pedestrian curb ramps that do not meet current Federal and local standards will be reconstructed to meet those standards.

Van Dorn from 84th to 91st

Roadway Improvement Project

This roadway improvement project will enhance safety and traffic flow on Van Dorn between 84th and 91st streets.

  • Anticipated Start: Late Summer 2019 Aug. 30, 2019
  • Completion: Fall 2019


Wendover from Bradfield to Sheridan Elementary School

Improvement Project

Street improvements will include removing brick, stabilizing the subgrade and replacing the brick. In addition, some sections of sidewalk and curb along Wendover Avenue will be repaired.

  • Anticipated Start: July 30, 2019
  • Completion: Aug. 20, 2019
