2019 Citywide Arterial Street Rehabilitation Project
Updated July 3, 2019
Scope of Work
The 2019 citywide pavement rehabilitation project includes work on three major streets in the city. At each location, street improvements will include mill and overlay of the existing asphalt, pavement repairs, joint sealing and new pavement markings. Pedestrian ramps may be reconstructed to meet federal and local standards, as necessary.
- S Folsom from W Pioneers to W South
- NW 48th from W Fletcher to W Craw
- W Van Dorn from S Coddington to Railroad Tracks
Construction on NW 48th Street from W Craw Street to W Fletcher Avenue is scheduled to begin July 8, 2019, and the street will be closed through early August. Work at the other locations will occur in 2019, based on the selected contractor’s schedule.
Access During Construction
The streets will be closed to through traffic during mill and overlay (resurfacing) operations. Message signs will be used for advance notification of street closures. The city will work closely with the neighborhoods to allow local traffic to pass into and through the area. Construction flagging operations will need to occur at times.
