Rokeby from 70th to 84th Paving and Safety Improvement Project

Updated September 13, 2019

Scope of Work

This project includes grading and construction of new pavement on Rokeby Road from 70th Street to Carpathian Lane. Between Carpathian Lane and 84th Street, crews will grade and lay new rock. Turn lanes will be added at the 70th Street and Rokeby Road intersection. Roundabouts will be built at the intersections of Rokeby Road with 73rd Street and Carpathian Lane to improve safety and mobility. The project also includes storm sewer system improvements to enhance drainage, ADA-accessible sidewalks and LED street lights. The new street is designed to accommodate the potential for widening to four lanes in the future to support traffic and residential growth.

Access During Construction

Work will be performed under a full street closure on Rokeby Road from 70th to 84th streets. The intersection of 70th Street and Rokeby Road is scheduled to be closed to all traffic September 3 through September 18 for pavement replacement. Digital signs will alert traffic to upcoming work and lane closures. Access to homes will be maintained. Drivers are encouraged to use alternate routes, including Yankee Hill Road and 84th Street.
