Public Urged to Take Note of Temporary No Parking Areas for Biketacular Event

Citizens attending Saturday's Biketacular event are urged to take note of several temporary "no parking" zones around the State Capitol. Effective at 6 a.m. Saturday, May 19, parking will be prohibited on the following streets:

Parking will again be allowed following the completion of the event.

Event and neighborhood parking is available at the State parking lot south of the State Capitol beginning at 5:30 p.m. Friday.

Event sponsors, including the Near South and Everett Neighborhood Associations, are asking for the cooperation of citizens by asking them to move their cars for this popular community event. Empty streets are needed, not only for the event, but also to enable City Public Works crews to sweep and clean the streets; repair potholes and patch cracks; and place safety barricades.

"We appreciate the cooperation of the citizens to allow us the opportunity to clean and improve the neighborhood while, at the same time, supporting this outstanding community event," said Miki Esposito, Public Works and Utilities Director.
