Fire Chief John Huff today announced the promotion of Captain Brad Thavenet to the position of Battalion Chief and the promotion of five Firefighters and one Apparatus Operator to the position of Captain.
Thavenet's promotion was effective March 28. He joined Lincoln Fire & Rescue (LF&R) in November 2000 and served as a Firefighter and Apparatus Operator before becoming a Captain. Thavenet is responsible for managing the department's special operations and technical rescue disciplines, and he assists with reaccreditation and other areas. His awards include the Eagle's Firefighter of the Year, Award of Merit, Medal of Honor and the Mayor's Award of Excellence.
