The City Public Works and Utilities Department today announced that $40,000 in grant funding is available for projects or programs serving Lincoln and Lancaster County that reduce the amount of solid waste material taken to the landfill. Non-profit organizations, schools, political jurisdictions and businesses are eligible to apply. Applications are due September 30, and information is available at lincoln.ne.gov (keyword: recycling grant). The grants are for projects or programs that begin in January 2016.
