The public is invited to an open house Wednesday, December 16 on the project to widen Pine Lake Road from 61st Street to Highway 2. The meeting is from 6 to 8 p.m. at Humann Elementary School, 6720 Rockwood Lane. Parking is available on the south and west sides of the building.
Construction is scheduled to begin in 2017 on the project to widen that section of Pine Lake Road to a four-lane divided roadway with turn lanes. The project will include construction of roundabouts at the current intersection of 70th Street and the future intersection with Blanchard Boulevard; improvements to drainage structures, including the box culvert at the Beal Slough; new sidewalks and trails; and a new trail under crossings at the Blanchard Boulevard and Beal Slough box culverts.
Open house participants will have the opportunity to review and comment on the proposed design, including the right of way impacts along the project corridor. Representatives from the City Public Works and Utilities Department and Schemmer, the City's design consultant, will be available to answer questions. The open house will not include a formal presentation.
