Lincoln and Lancaster County residents are invited to obtain free tree mulch on a first-come, first-served basis from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Hofeling Enterprises, 2200 S. Folsom Court. Hofeling Enterprises again donated its grinding services for the City's annual tree recycling program, which collected about 6,800 trees at seven recycling sites in Lincoln. Boy Scout Troop 8 collected 600 of the trees and transported them to the recycling site.
This was the 29th year of the City's tree recycling program, which has collected an estimated 229,575 trees. Recycling officials said that residents can still have their trees recycled at no cost by taking them to Hofeling Enterprises.
