North 17th Street, between "R" and Vine streets, will close at 9 a.m., Wednesday, October 18 for demolition work on the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL) campus. The Cather and Pound residence halls at 609 and 513 N. 17th Street are scheduled for implosion on December 22. The street is scheduled to reopen in April 2018.
StarTran buses heading north (or outbound) on Routes 27 (North 27th), 42 (Bethany), and 49 (University Place) will be detoured to 16th Street on the same schedule, with stops at 16th and "S" streets and 16th and Vine streets. Route 42 buses will continue to stop at 17th and "X" streets.
UNL faculty, staff and students can find alternate routes into campus at lincoln.ne.gov (keyword: unl). The recommended detour around campus is Antelope Valley Parkway.
