Lincoln Police Investigate Fatal Stabbing
The Lincoln (NE) Police Department is investigating the fatal stabbing of 46 year old Sujay Nooka. On August 5, 2014, at 10:36 p.m., officers were dispatched to his home, in the 6600 block of S. 21st Street. Sujay was found with a stab wound to his chest. He was transported to the hospital and rushed into surgery. At 2:51a.m., Sujay was pronounced deceased. An autopsy has been ordered by the County Attorney's Office.
Sujay's father-in-law, 77 year old Bayapa Lingala, was arrested for 2nd degree Murder and Use of a Weapon to Commit a Felony. Bayapa, who lives with the victim, was still at the home when officers arrived. He was taken into custody without incident. The knife, believed to have been used in the assault, was located at the scene.
Investigators are still determining what prompted Bayapa to assault Sujay. The investigation is ongoing.
This is the fifth homicide reported to the Lincoln Police Department in 2014.
