About 100 citizens participated in Mayor Don Wesely’s Town Hall meeting that was held
April 30 at the Isles Reception Hall. The Town Hall provided an opportunity
for the community to learn and ask questions and for city leaders to hear the
concerns of citizens. The city’s government access channel, 5 CITY-TV, is now
carrying the hour-long question and answer session.

Kawasaki’s New Rail Car Assembly Building | |
Mayor Don Wesely participated in the grand opening ceremonies April 19 for
Kawasaki’s new $50 million rail car assembly building, where as many as 300
people could eventually be employed. Kawasaki is contracted to supply rail
cars for the New York City subway system.

Mayor Don Wesely today cut the ribbon to officially open the new "F"Street
Community Center, 1225 "F" Street. The Mayor was joined by city and
neighborhood officials for grand opening ceremonies, which included the
unveiling of a brick mural near the main entrance, tours, demonstrations
and entertainment.

Lincoln Mayor Don Wesely and Omaha Mayor Mike Fahey hosted a joint city
Economic Summit March 13th at Mahoney State Park. Participants included
government leadership and economic development, business and labor officials
from both cities.

Mayor Don Wesely recognized the fifth-grade prize winners from the Annual
Mayor's Water Conservation Task Force "Busboard" Contest at his news conference
Thursday, March 21 at the Earth Wellness Festival. The first place winner was
Schyler Hearn from Fredstrom Elementary School (pictured with the Mayor and her
artwork). Schyler's winning entry was made into a busboard which can be seen
on a StarTran bus through the end of April.
