Northeast Senior Center

The Aging Partners Northeast Center serves the Historic Havelock, offering a variety of services and activities. This center is considered an important source of activities, information and opportunities related to aging. It is the place where you may fulfill many of your social, physical, nutritional and intellectual needs. Whether it is a day trip; an educational presentation; recreation time with cards, movies, playing pool or exercise; reflection with friends and neighbors; the Northeast Senior Center is your home away from home and you are always welcome.

Transportation

Transportation is provided within a specific boundary area. Call the center manager for details, 402-441-7151. If you would like to use the van, the suggested contribution is only $2 each way, ($4 round trip). Reservations for rides are made the week before you wish to attend.

Commodities

Commodities are distributed at the Northeast Center every other month. (January, March, May, July, September and November). To register call the Food Bank of Lincoln at 402-466-8170, ext. 2001.

Health Services

Free blood pressure screening is provided by Hospice Community Care of Nebraska on the first Wednesday of the month and by Hillcrest Health Services on the third Wednesday of the month. Monthly trips are scheduled to the Aging Partners Senior Health Promotion Clinic. Call the senior center to sign up.

Lunch

Call the center two days prior to the day you would like to eat. The encouraged age to receive meals is 60 years and over.

Midday Meal (check with your senior center for exact mealtime)

  • Age 60 and over: $5 suggested contribution
  • Younger than age 60: $10 fee

Special Holiday Meals

  • Age 60 and over: $6 suggested contribution
  • Younger than age 60: $9 fee

Weather Closings for Senior Centers and Programs

In the event of severe winter weather or dangerous conditions, Aging Partners senior centers and fitness center will close. As a rule, if Lincoln Public Schools (LPS) are closed, the senior centers and fitness center will close, and all classes or special events will be cancelled. Please listen to KFOR 103.3 FM or 1240 AM, or KLIN 1400 AM for the most accurate and up-to-date senior center/LPS closing information.
