Electrical Trade Registration

The renewal period for the City of Lincoln Electrical Contractor and Fire Alarm Installer registration is typically from October 1st to December 31st every other year; however, you can renew your registration at any time during this two-year period. You must have a current City of Lincoln registration prior to the issuance of an electrical permit within the City of Lincoln or three miles thereof, as well as an approved Certificate of Insurance.

Steps to Renew:

1. Click the link:  Visit Citizen Access.  NOTE:  You do NOT need to create an account or log-in to renew your license
2. Scroll to the bottom of the page
3. Under Building click Search Applications
4. Enter your trade license number in the Record Number field and click Search
5. Click on Payments then Fees
6. Click the blue Pay Fees button
7. Click Continue and then enter payment information
8. If your renewal application is approved, then your new card will be emailed to you within 5 business days.

Yearly Registration Fees

• Master Contractor
  • $125 per year or $250 for biannual renewal
• Fire Alarm Installer
  • $100 per year or $200 for biannual renewal

• Each trade professional needs to meet the minimum requirements outlined in TITLE 23 ELECTRICITY. 
• New Master Contractors and Fire Alarm Installers must register for license through the City of Lincoln in addition to their State Registration.
