What to Know Before Scheduling
- The IVR Line, SelecTxt and Citizen Access are available 24 hours a day.
- Our office hours are 8 AM – 4:30 PM Monday - Friday excluding Federal Holidays.
- Have your Permit Number ready.
- To cancel, reschedule or schedule a same day inspection the request must be submitted prior to 7:30 AM.
- A permit has to be Issued before an inspection can be scheduled on that permit.
- An inspection cannot be scheduled on a permit that still has fees due.
- If the requested inspection has already been approved for a permit, you cannot request additional inspections of the same inspection type on that permit.
Scheduling Options
IVR Line
- Dial the inspection line: 402-441-5999.
- The initial greeting and main menu will play.
- Select 1 to schedule an inspection.
- Enter the digits corresponding with the letters and Numbers of your permit number followed by the # key. (For assistance press the * key.) Example: B1700000 would be 21700000#.
- Enter your IVR inspection code followed by the # key. (For a list of inspection codes press the * key.)
- Select a day for your inspection.
- Select a time of day for your inspection.
- Leave a message for the inspector if you need to convey more information than you already entered.
- To hear your confirmation number and hang up, press 1; to schedule another inspection on the same permit, press 2; to schedule an inspection on a different permit, press 3.
SelecTxt
You can schedule an inspection with SelecTxt by texting 'Hello' to 888-405-9508. To opt out of SelecTxt text 'Stop' to 888-405-9508. To opt back into SelecTxt text 'Start' to 888-405-9508.
Citizen Access
You can schedule an inspection by logging into your Citizen Access account. Once logged in, navigate to Building>Schedule an inspection. Search for the permit number or address you would like to schedule the inspection for. The default search timeframe is 2 years. You will need to remove the start date if the permit was opened before then. For more information see our Citizen Access Information page.
