Firefighter / Firefighter Paramedic

CPAT

Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT)
Must be 18 to take the CPAT 

We are accepting those that have successfully passed CPAT within one year of hire date. Please upload a copy of your current CPAT card below on the registration form. 

Program Overview:

  • 8 week course that includes in depth mentoring sessions (access to a mentor up to the time of the final test
  • 2 Orientation sessions (includes familiarization of the entire test)
  • 2 Practice sessions (hands on familiarity of CPAT equipment & a practice run)
  • 1 Final test and certification
  • Candidates may attend up to 2 orientation sessions and 2 practice sessions

Orientation Sessions

Only need to attend one session but allowed to attend both if they want to. Must sign waiver if they decline to attend orientation and/or practice sessions

Practice Sessions

* Only need to attend one practice session but allowed to attend both if they want to. Must sign waiver if they decline to attend orientation and/or practice sessions.

* Candidates will be timed during practice sessions, if they pass during practice session, they do not need the final testing date.

Final Testing

* If candidate only wants to attend final test date, they must sign waiver. 

* We do not accept the CPAT check off form from any other fire department or testing agency. Candidate must provide a certificate of completion through an accredited CPAT testing agency.

* If you are unable to obtain a copy of your CPAT card or have lost it, please indicate so and we will run your name through the database to search for it.

Each participant must have a signed Waiver and Photo Release on file with Lincoln Fire & Rescue. (Upload them on the registration form.)

Minimum Requirements
  • Proof of authorization to work in the US
  • High school graduate or GED equivalency
  • Paramedic National Registry or EMT Certification
  • Nineteen (19) year of age or older
  • Valid driver's license
  • Eyesight requirement: strong eye 20/40, correctable to 20/20. Weak eye 200/1 corrected to 20/40, must not be color blind.
  • CPAT certification
