MVD of the IAFC Annual Conference 2026

June 3-5, 2026 | Lincoln, Nebraska

Please join us in Lincoln, Nebraska for the 2026 Missouri Valley Division (MVD) of the International Association of Fire Chiefs' (IAFC) annual conference. There will be exciting speakers, networking with colleagues, and you’ll hear from the Missouri Valley Division board about their efforts to support you.

Every year the MVD of the IAFC comes together to offer education to the fire service leaders. For three days, you have the opportunity to build relationships, explore the latest topics in the fire service, and refocus your administrative mindset.

MVD's annual conference, held every year since 1935, is a hub of professional development. Conference highlights include:

  • Exhibition of fire and emergency apparatus and equipment.
  • Workshops and seminars focused on leadership and management along with operational and administrative issues applicable to the fire service industry.
  • Business meetings.
  • Social events for members, guests, vendors and spouses highlighting all Lincoln has to offer.

The emphasis on education is one of the most significant benefits for MVD members. The team at LFR has worked hard to create a robust education calendar.

LFR is a designated Lighthouse Community since 2023. LFR has a cardiac survival rate of 50% which is double the national average and is continuously working to improve this rate every day. Lincoln is the only city in the Midwest to receive this designation.

LFR is also the home of Nebraska Task Force 1 (NE-TF1). NE-TF1 is one of the 28 FEMA Urban Search & Rescue (US&R) teams located throughout the United States. Due to the geographic location of NE-TF1, it has been one of the most deployed teams in the country. NE-TF1 assets have been deployed to over 40 disasters including:

  • Oklahoma City bombing
  • World Trade Center attacks
  • Moore Oklahoma tornado
  • Columbia Space Shuttle disaster
  • Hurricane Harvey
  • Hurricane Florence
  • Champlain Tower Collapse
  • Hurricane Fiona - Puerto Rico
  • Texas Flooding

Additionally, NE-TF1 has been called upon as a stand-by asset for high profile national security events such as the Olympic games or presidential inaugurations. The team has also responded to many in-state emergencies such as technical rescue, flooding events, or to provide technical expertise to requesting agencies.
