As our community ages, an increased number of residents will have a growing risk of serious health problems related to a fall. There are many evidence-based practices that reduce the risk of falling, prolonging health and wellbeing for a steadily increasing percentage of residents 60 years of age and older. Underserved, low-income seniors are at increased risk of suffering life-altering falls. Initial CHIP workgroup efforts focused on providing best-practice fall prevention resources to high-risk populations in our community. Specific interventions are described in the “Accomplishments” tab. Please contact Aging Partners Health and Fitness Program 402-441-7575 for more information on preventing falls among the elderly.
