Environmental Public Health


Environmental Public Health protects and promotes health for all people in Lincoln and Lancaster County by: ensuring healthy environments in child care; preventing illness through food safety and water well testing; investigating nuisances and outbreaks; responding to HazMat spills; ensuring good air and water quality; and recommending safer options for hazardous waste.  

Environmental Public Health Staff Work To:

  • Change behavior (inspire, train, educate).
  • Help provide technical assistance, health consultation and manage risk.
  • Issue permits to construct, operate or work.
  • Inspect to assure regulatory compliance.
  • Investigate disease outbreaks.
  • Involve those that are regulated.
  • Enforce the laws and regulations.
