Salt Creek Neighborhood
Street Improvement Project
Updated March 30, 2021
This street improvement project will resurface the following roadway sections in the Salt Creek Neighborhood:
“B” from 1st to 8th streets
8th from “C” to “J” streets
8th from “N” to “O” streets
“E” from 8th to 9th streets
“F” from 8th to 9th streets
The pavement condition will be improved through a mill and overlay of the existing surface, with selected curb and base repairs required. Additional improvements will include pavement and crosswalk markings and updates to the existing curb ramps to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements and Lincoln School Zone Implementation Program. At least 20 new parking stalls will be constructed along the west side of 8th Street between “D” and “F” streets to assist with relieving traffic congestion and increase safety for drivers and pedestrians.
Construction is currently scheduled to take place from spring to fall 2021. Lincoln Transportation and Utilities (LTU) project dates and times are subject to change due to weather and unforeseen circumstances.
Access During Construction
The streets will be closed to through traffic for the duration of construction. Access to individual properties will be maintained. The traveling public is encouraged to find alternative routes and to use the Waze mobile app for assistance.
In addition to this street project, Lincoln Parks and Recreation is completing several neighborhood projects. Please see the project website for more information.
