Lincoln on the Move is investing in improvements to the following streets in the Highlands North Neighborhood:
Additional work with other funding sources includes upgrades to curb ramps, and new sidewalk and signal upgrades for the pedestrian crossing at Highway 34 and W Fletcher Avenue to comply with Federal American with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements.
This project is in the early planning stage and information is subject to change.
This project is programmed as a part of the commitment to voters to invest significant sales tax funds into improvement of existing streets. The project will be funded jointly from the Street Improvement Vehicle Tax – Residential Rehab fund (aka-Wheel Tax) and ¼ cent sales tax for streets in accordance with ballot language.
Construction is anticipated to take place in 2026.
Streets will be closed to through traffic during construction. Local access will be maintained to the best extent possible.
Sidewalks and curb ramps will be closed during reconstruction. Sidewalk access will be maintained for pedestrians on at least one side of the street.
