Project Summary
Lincoln on the Move is investing in improvements to approximately 1.5 miles of Leighton Avenue from 48th to 70th streets. These improvements will include pavement repair, removal and replacement of pavement, base repairs or replacement, public utility adjustments, and inlet top, median, and curb repairs or replacement. A mini-roundabout is currently proposed for the intersection of 63rd Street and Leighton Avenue. Additional work with other funding sources includes upgrades to the existing curb ramps to comply with the Federal Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements.

Construction is expected to occur in 2024 but may be adjusted to facilitate other project work in or around this area.
Access During Construction
A full closure of Leighton Avenue will be required during construction. The traveling public is encouraged to find alternative routes and to use the WAZE app for assistance.
Access to sidewalks may be restricted during sidewalk curb ramp construction. One sidewalk path will remain open at all times during construction.
