Lincoln on the Move invested in improvements to approximately three miles of Normal Boulevard from 33rd to 70th streets. These improvements included a mill and overlay with concrete and base repairs or replacement where required, curb and median repair or replacement, joint and crack sealing, inlet and inlet top replacements, and public utility adjustments. Additional work with other funding sources included traffic signal replacement at South Street, 40th Street, 48th Street, and 56th Street, and pedestrian ramp reconstruction to meet federal and local standards.
This project was programmed as a part of the commitment to voters to invest significant sales tax funds into improvement of existing streets. The project was funded jointly from the Highway Allocation Funds (aka-Gas Tax) and ¼ cent sales tax for streets in accordance with ballot language.
Construction was completed in fall 2025.
