Rousseau Neighborhood Street Improvements

Lincoln on the Move is investing in improvements to the following streets in the Rousseau Neighborhood:

  • 34th Street from Stockwell Street to Calvert Street
  • 35th Street from Stockwell Street to Calvert Street
  • 35th Street from Southgate Boulevard to Prescott Avenue
  • Loveland Drive from Southgate Boulevard to Calvert Street, including Fiene Circle
  • Stockwell Street from 33rd Street to Loveland Drive
  • Cooper Avenue from 33rd Street to Loveland Drive

These improvements will include a mill and overlay of the existing asphalt, curb, gutter and base repairs where required, and adjusting water valves and manholes to grade. Additional work with other funding sources includes updating sidewalks and curb ramps to comply with the Federal Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements.

Project Funding

This project is programmed as a part of the commitment to voters to invest significant sales tax funds into improvement of existing streets. The project will be funded jointly from the Street Improvement Vehicle Tax – Residential Rehab fund (aka-Wheel Tax) and ¼ cent sales tax for streets in accordance with ballot language.

Schedule

Construction is expected to take place in 2026.

Access During Construction

Streets will be closed in areas where work is taking place. Local access will be maintained to the best extent possible.

Sidewalks and curb ramps will be closed during construction. Sidewalk access will be maintained for pedestrians on at least one side of the street.
