Rokeby from Friedman to 84th - Paving Project

Lincoln on the Move invested in improvements to Rokeby Road between Friedman and 84th streets. These improvements included new pavement with a raised median, a new right-turn lane off South 84th Street and a new roundabout at South 82nd Street. Additional work with other funding sources included new sidewalks and curb ramps to meet Americans with Disabilities Act compliance.

As a part of the City’s commitment in the Rokeby Road Coalition - S 70th & Rokeby Rd annexation agreement of January 2015, this project will promote private sector investment into the community by helping serve 1,740 approved additional dwelling units and another 340 potential future through improving safety and capacity of the transportation system.

Project Funding

The City already had several annexation agreements with developers regarding new streets in “growth” areas. However, many of these street projects could not get underway due to a lack of funding. The portion of the sales tax for new street construction to promote private sector investment helped move these projects forward.

Schedule

Construction took place in 2021.
