Railroad track removal is taking place in 2024 and is being completed in three phases:
The project will require lane closures and full street closures on NW 12th Street for track removal operations.
Railroad track removal on NW 12th Street between W Commerce Way and W Upland Avenue will be completed under a full street closure with traffic detoured to NW 15th Street. Temporary traffic signals will be utilized at the intersections of NW 12th Street & W Upland Avenue and NW 12th Street & W Commerce Way while the full closure is in effect. Message boards will alert drivers of the full closure.
Railroad track removal on NW 12th Street between W Upland Avenue and Kingbird Road will be completed under lane closures with head-to-head traffic. Work will begin in the west lane and switch to the east lane once work is completed on the west side.
Local access to businesses will be maintained at all times. It is recommended to use extra caution and safety practices while commuting through the project area.
