This project will install a Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacon (RRFB) at the trail crossing on Old Cheney Road at the Tierra Williamsburg Trail. The existing median will also be upgraded to a two-stage crossing. These improvements will provide additional time for pedestrians to cross and enhance safety for trail users crossing Old Cheney Road.
Construction is expected to take place in 2026.
Old Cheney Road will have inside lane closures during construction. One lane will remain open in each direction.
Trail access on the north side of Old Cheney Road will be closed during construction. Pedestrians and cyclists will be detoured to the signalized crossing at 27th Street and Old Cheney Road.
