Updated July 30, 2020
The intent of this project is to improve the intersection of Park Boulevard and Van Dorn Street by installing new traffic signals and turn lanes.
Turn lane construction will include a new eastbound right-turn lane from Park Boulevard to Van Dorn Street, a new southbound right-turn lane from Van Dorn Street to Park Boulevard, and the existing southbound left-turn lane from Van Dorn Street to Park Boulevard will be extended.
The intersection of Park Boulevard and Van Dorn Street will have eastbound and westbound lanes restrictions throughout the project. Lane closures will start in the exterior lanes and will move to the interior lanes as the project progresses. Two way traffic will be maintained on Van Dorn Street and all local businesses will have access throughout the project.
Beginning at 7 a.m. Tuesday, August 4, 2020, Park Boulevard is scheduled to close from South to Van Dorn streets for pavement repairs. This work is expected to be completed Monday, August 10, 2020.
Construction began May 28, 2020 and is anticipated to be completed in November 2020.
