The Watershed Management Division developed a system for prioritizing two different types of project needs: 1) urban drainage projects, and 2) projects to implement watershed master plans.
Urban drainage projects are improvements to address deficiencies in the urban storm drain system, including lack of adequate drainage, local flooding and structural failures. The City worked with a consulting team to assemble an engineering peer review committee to assist in this process. The results of this effort are used to inform Capital Improvement Projects for stormwater bond issues. This process is incorporated into the Prioritization Methodology Report for the Urban Drainage System below.

Projects to implement watershed master plans include flood management, water quality, and stream stability projects. As the City and the Lower Platte South NRD have progressed on developing a comprehensive watershed master plan within Lincoln and its future growth areas, a more systematic approach was needed to prioritize both among projects and between watershed master plans. The City and the NRD worked cooperatively on this effort with a consulting team to assemble an engineering peer review committee to assist in this process. The results of this effort are used to inform Capital Improvement Projects for stormwater bond issues. This process is incorporated into the Prioritization Methodology Report for Watershed Master Planning Projects.
