Bus Stop Improvements
Project
This project will improve bus stop locations throughout Lincoln by installing 50 concrete bus stop pads. Selected locations will also include benches, bicycle parking and shelters.
CNG Fueling Station
Project
Two grants totaling $3.425 million that will help StarTran increase the use of compressed natural gas (CNG) in its fleet. The funds will go toward site acquisition, research and design for a CNG fueling station and eventually a bus maintenance and storage facility.
Electric Bus Fleet Replacement
Project
Lincoln Transportation and Utilities (LTU) was awarded a $387,569 grant from the Nebraska Environmental Trust (NET) to replace six aging diesel buses with electric buses, install three electric charging stations and train staff on their use.
Multi-modal Transportation
Center
The new Multi-modal Transportation Center (MMTC) will provide a more efficient, safer, and inclusive public transportation system in Lincoln.
