Sidewalk Mitigation

By sawing/grinding uneven panels, crews reduce trip hazards, making neighborhood sidewalks safer for everyone.

Reimbursement Program

Lincoln’s sidewalk reimbursement program empowers property owners to improve walkability in neighborhoods. When funds are available, residents can hire a contractor to repair qualifying sidewalk sections and receive reimbursement from the City.

In 2025, the City increased the reimbursement rate for full sidewalk panel replacement from $6 to $10 per square foot, helping better reflect current construction costs. Mud jacking remains reimbursable at up to $3 per square foot.

As of early August, the City has doubled partipication in the reimbursement program, processing more than 200 reimbursements.
