Visitors are encouraged to review updated parking options due to construction.
The purpose of this report is to update the 2007 Master Plan with up to date information, and to revise and update the CIP for both of the wastewater treatment plants and the collection system. Some of the new information includes recently completed flow and rainfall monitoring data, updated planning tiers, updated regulations, and recently completed capital improvement projects. The majority of the work performed as part of this update was to incorporate the new flow monitoring and rainfall data into the hydraulic model and reevaluate the need for storage within the collection system.
The City of Lincoln last updated their Wastewater Facilities Master Plan in 2003. Since that time the City's population has continued to grow at a steady rate. This growth is the main driving factor for this Wastewater Facilities Master Plan Update and the system improvements that will be identified. The information contained in this Update will be used for general planning, identifying capital improvement projects, asset management, and as an aid in determining funding requirements.
The project generally focused on the salt valley trunk sewer system (SV trunk system), and performing a capacity evaluation using the latest planning information. This included quantifying the existing and future flows, estimating how much growth the existing sewers can accommodate, identifying when the trunk sewers will reach their capacity, and reviewing future improvement alternatives.
