Sustainable Landscapes

  • Rain Barrels
Capture rainwater from your roof to reduce runoff and save the water for when it's dry.
  • Rain Gardens
These gardens contain native plants and are designed to temporarily hold rainwater runoff to allow it to soak into the ground.
  • Pervious Parking Surfaces
Parking lots and driveways paved with pervious surfaces reduce runoff by allowing water to percolate into the underlying soil.
  • Post Construction Best Management Practices (BMPs)
Structural BMPs are permanent stormwater treatment features incorporated into the design of newly developed or redeveloped properties.
  • Neighborhood Greenspace
Properly maintained greenspaces can provide a number of benefits, however, this amenity comes with responsibility. The City has developed tools to help aid in the care and maintenance of greenspaces.
  • Green Roofs
Green roofs provide many benefits including: energy savings, runoff reduction and habitat for wildlife in urban areas.
  • Watershed Management Cost Share Programs
Watershed Management is offering cost share programs to promote the installation of landscapes that conserve water and improve water quality.
