Mahoney Inclusive Playground Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting

Lincoln's newest all-inclusive playground is complete, and we're celebrating with a special ribbon-cutting event.

Five times larger than the previous playground, the nearly 34,000-square-foot fenced area will feature a pathway loop to access inclusive play zones, a large open green space, and sensory gardens. Funding for the project came from the Land and Water Conservation Fund through Nebraska Game and Parks Commission, the City of Lincoln, and private donors via Lincoln Parks Foundation. 

The design includes a centralized shade shelter, drinking fountain, interactive water table, and new play equipment to provide accessible and inclusive play experiences such as swinging, sliding, rocking, climbing, balancing, imaginative play, and fitness.
