PLAY (Parks, Lincoln, and Yoga)
FREE yoga in Antelope Park, every Sunday in September at 10 am.
Focused on fun and creating community.
Bring a mat or towel, kids and pets welcome!
The program is held at Antelope Park at the bandshell.
Now in its 16th year, Lincoln Parks and Recreation is offering free community yoga at Antelope Park on Sundays in September at 10 am. The event called PLAY (Parks, Lincoln, and Yoga) offers classes that are accessible to almost anyone, no matter their level of yoga experience. Teachers are hand-selected by PLAY’s organizer for their ability to offer all-level classes that allow attendees to experience the joy and energy of an outdoor community yoga event.
“That was my goal in creating PLAY,” said PLAY’s founder, Katherine Warren, “I wanted everyone to get to experience the joy of this yoga community.” “No matter if you’ve ever stepped foot in a yoga class, you can come to the park with a mat (or even just a towel) and experience yoga with zero intimidation. You can spread out amongst the trees. If you fall, the soft grass will catch you. If you want to bring kids, pets, or bikes to the park, all are welcome.”

Salena Woodrow
Salena Woodrow has been practicing yoga as a student and teacher for the better part of 30 years.
As a D2 Collegiate cheerleader and dancer, flexibility was the name of the game. A brief encounter with traditional yoga started her decades-long love affair.
Yoga has served different roles over the decades, which included yoga for physical fitness (seeking the yoga booty lol), yoga to supplement marathon training, and my time on the mat to support my mental health while transitioning through a divorce.
Her love for all things yoga eventually led her to yoga teacher training, which she completed and received her 200 hr RYT. During teacher training, the spark was ignited, and she decided to pursue opening her own yoga studio to support the community.
On November 11, 2023, Ritual Yoga and Wellness was born in South Lincoln. Salena’s life purpose has always been to support and love others through the journey of life. She has found her home at Ritual and extends a loving hand to anyone feeling called to practice with us. She is originally from Indiana and transplanted to Nebraska in 2017. She has 4 kids, 2 Aussies, and 1 cat (Mr Sous Chef)
