LPD Announces Back to School Traffic Safety Project Results

The Lincoln Police Department (LPD) today announced the results of a specialized traffic enforcement project that focused on school zone safety. The effort was conducted throughout Lincoln from August 14 through September 8.

LPD assigned additional officers to conduct high visibility traffic enforcement near schools in Lincoln. The goal was to enhance school zone safety at the beginning of the school year. The project was funded through a grant from the Nebraska Department of Transportation Highway Safety Office.

The results are as follows:
