LPD Releases Distracted Driving Enforcement Results | 2025

The Lincoln Police Department today released the results of a traffic enforcement project in April that focused on distracted driving. The project was part of the national “U Drive, U Text, U Pay” safety initiative in which officers worked overtime to identify speed and red traffic signal violations, the top two traffic infractions committed by distracted drivers.

This project made possible by a grant from our safety partners at the Nebraska Department of Transportation-Highway Safety Office. Results below do not include citations written by officers during normal shifts.
