LPD Releases Name of Sunday’s Homicide Victim

The Lincoln Police Department (LPD) expresses our sincere condolences to the family and friends of Philmoon Kuku, the 34-year-old Lincoln man killed in the shooting at 13th and E Streets on Sunday, February 16.
Investigators have created a timeline of events from Sunday’s homicide and subsequent incidents that led to the arrest of 41-year-old Timothy Washington. It is provided below and remains fluid so details may change as additional information becomes available.
At this time, Washington has been arrested for 1st degree murder and use of a firearm to commit a felony. Additional charges are forthcoming and will be added in conjunction with the County Attorney’s Office once the timeline of events is solidified.
LPD wants to express our gratitude to the NSP Airwing Unit and UNLPD for their assistance during these incidents that occurred over the course of appropriately 80 minutes across Lincoln, requiring a citywide response from LPD officers and other agencies.

12:11 pm — 17th and O | fled from UNLPD
12:35 pm — 27th and Y | hit-and-run with Toyota Highlander
12:36 pm — 1100 block of N 29th | 40-year-old Lincoln man stabbed
12:40 pm — 27th and Y | stole Toyota Highlander
12:46 pm — 4900 block of Madison | 40-year-old male pedestrian & two vehicles hit
12:48 pm — observed with knife, beat on apartment complex windows
12:58 pm — 2243 N Cotner Blvd (Casey’s) | stole Chevy Tahoe
1:01 pm — 60th and Adams | struck Chevy Cruz, pushed into intersection
1:03 pm — 65th and Adams | pulled into driveway and struck Nissan Murano; confronted a witness to that incident and struck her Kia Sorento
1:05 pm — 56th and Adams | vehicle pursuit with Tahoe
1:10 pm — pursuit continued until tree and light pole struck in 800 block of Benton; Washington fled on foot after wreck but was quickly taken into custody
