Lincoln Police Investigate Deadly Crash | S 20th & Nebraska Parkway

The Lincoln Police Department (LPD) is investigating a deadly crash that happened on Nebraska Parkway.

On Monday, November 20, 2023, just after 2 p.m., officers were dispatched to S. 20th Street and Nebraska Parkway for a multi-vehicle crash. The preliminary investigation indicated a white pickup truck was driving westbound on Nebraska Parkway when a maroon sedan on S. 20th Street attempted to turn eastbound onto Nebraska Parkway. The two vehicles collided in the intersection.

Lincoln Fire & Rescue personnel took both drivers to a local hospital with critical injuries. The driver of the sedan later died from their injuries. The driver of the pickup truck is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries. The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending family notification.

Nebraska Parkway eastbound starting at 14th Street and westbound starting at 27th Street will remain closed for some time as the investigation is completed. The intersection of Southwood and Nebraska Parkway is also closed to westbound traffic. Drivers are encouraged to find an alternate travel route.
