Lincoln Poverty Elimination Action Plan

On April 17, 2024 Governor Pillen signed LB 840 into law which requires Lincoln to prepare a Poverty Elimination Action Plan to meet the stated goal to create a comprehensive, statewide poverty elimination action plan to address the specific poverty challenges faced in high poverty areas, qualified census tracts, and economic redevelopment areas in the state, and to promote upward mobility and sustainability. The plan is due no later than July 1, 2025.

The Plan will address:

  • Education & Job Training
  • Affordable Housing
  • Health Care Access
  • Economic Development
  • Transportation and Infrastructure
  • Social Services
  • Equity and Inclusion
  • Coordination and Collaboration
  • Education and Outreach
