Our Mission and Vision
Mission
The Parking Section is defined by using appropriate strategies and oversight to promote compliance with its mission and related goals. This is done by supporting existing and future land uses, assisting the City’s economic development initiatives, and preserving parking by providing adequate and high quality parking resources and related services for all users while maintaining and/or increasing revenues to support future parking development.
Vision
To protect the City’s investment in the parking system by maintaining and improving on a safe, reliable, and efficient parking facilities and equipment. There will be a continuing need to maintain and improve the City’s existing and future parking facilities and equipment. This will be accomplished by utilizing the necessary training, technologies, and modern equipment. The City of Lincoln’s Parking Section will meet escalating public demands, by increasing the system’s ability to be more efficient, accountable, and responsive. The parking system will continue to efficiently serve the public with the highest standards of quality, safety, and responsiveness while working to increase public parking effectiveness.

Garage Ambassadors perform a variety of tasks to ensure a smooth
operation of the parking facility, while delivering service that exceeds
our customer/client’s expectations. Depending on the needs of the
location the ambassador provides customer service, including helping
customers with entry/exit transactions, maintaining parking equipment in
operating condition with receipt paper and free of jams, providing
vehicle jump starts to customers. Company vehicle provided. The
Ambassador works closely with fellow team members, Operations Manager,
and/or Shift Supervisor to ensure that cleanliness as well as safety
standards are met at all times.
- Greet arriving and departing guests in a friendly and courteous manner.
- Act as traffic controller to direct incoming guests to available parking spaces.
- Perform vehicle counts on location throughout shift to ensure garage does not over fill available spaces.
- Perform daily patrols and issue violation warnings to tenants and visitors that violate garage policies.
- Control traffic at entrances and exits as needed; provide assistance to guests who have forgotten where they parked.
- Assist in the maintenance and repair of parking equipment and any
general maintenance tasks as directed by the Facility or Operations.
- Use respectful communication to assist guests with their questions,
problems, and concerns; relay information to Operations Manager or
- Immediately report any accidents, incidents or safety concerns to Operations Manager or Shift Lead.
- Communicate professionally at all times with guests, client, and teammates.
- Employee must be able to perform essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.

METER COLLECTOR

Parking Meter Collections and Maintenance staff member will be responsible for collecting money from parking meters, providing for the maintenance and repair of all meters, responding to inquiries or complaints regarding meters, and ensuring for cleanliness and proper working condition of the City's parking meters.

Parking Enforcement Ambassador

Enforcement – On-Street Parking Ambassadors will issue citations for parking violations associated with the parking meters, and the downtown Lincoln area.
Visitor Assistance -The ambassadors, who are on foot, will assist downtown visitors.
Hardware Check - As you travel your route, you will check the parking equipment to ensure operability.
Must be at least 18 years of age. A candidate for this position is required to have a valid Driver’s License. High school diploma or equivalent is mandatory. Experience in parking meter repair and collections is preferred (Single space and Multi Space).
Physical Demands:
- Move around the property by walking for extended periods of time, sometimes for entire duration of shift
- Occasionally position self in order to perform maintenance and repair tasks by bending or stooping
- Perform maintenance tasks by occasionally climbing and reaching
- Occasionally lift and carry maintenance equipment and machinery, up to 50 lbs.
