    Lincoln City Libraries fosters the power of reading and provides open access to all forms of information to enrich people's lives every day.

    Mayor's Office

    Mayor Leirion Gaylor Baird was elected the 52nd mayor of Lincoln, Nebraska in May 2019.

    Parks and Recreation

    The Parks and Recreation department is FUNdamental to Lincoln. Our team manages 168 parks, 185.9 miles of trails, 97 playgrounds, over 83,000 street trees, nine public pools and two spraygrounds, six recreation centers, five golf courses, five dog runs, five disc golf courses, various public gardens, and a nature center.

    Planning Department

    The Lincoln/Lancaster County Planning Department provides technical information and advice to elected and appointed boards and residents on managing the growth and development of Lincoln and Lancaster County to be efficient, orderly, and attractive, facilitate economic opportunities, and conserve natural and cultural resources.

    Urban Development

    The Urban Development department is responsible for managing Lincoln's share of federal Community Development Block Grant funds, coordinating acquisition of Right of Way and sales of City property, serving as the City's Redevelopment Authority, and managing public parking resources.
