The City held an America 250 City Art Poster Contest from February through April. Artists were invited to create posters with themes that conveyed civic pride, celebrated Lincoln’s past, and inspired optimism for the next 250 years.
The winners are as follows:
Poster by Henry Fuller - Winner in the Middle and High School Category
Poster by Bobbie Jo Ficken - Winner in the Amateur Category
Poster by Tammy Miller - Winner in the Professional Category
A committee of community members presented two finalists in each category for Mayor Gaylor Baird to determine the final winner. Submissions were evaluated on creativity and originality, relevance to the America 250 theme, visual impact and design quality and integration of Lincoln's identity or community stories.
Mayor Gaylor Baird selected Miller’s entry to be submitted to the national America 250 project for potential inclusion in national displays and publications.
