South of Downtown Meeting Set for November 12

Published on November 10, 2020

Residents will be able to participate remotely

The public is invited to attend an online presentation and discussion about the South of Downtown Redevelopment & Strategic Plan from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday, November 12. The South of Downtown Community Development Organization (SDCDO) is co-hosting the event with the Urban Development Department and the Lincoln-Lancaster County Planning Department. Registration is required at bit.ly/ourplan2020.

Residents are invited to comment on the plan and its alignment with community stakeholders' and residents' goals for their neighborhoods. Thursday's discussion will be a starting point for prioritizing implementation of the plan.

Since 2017, the City and SDCDO have been developing the plan through numerous community conversations that helped identify priorities for residents. The plan builds on existing community assets with a vision of creating equitable opportunities for jobs, housing, health, and services for all residents and businesses in the South of Downtown area.

The plan and an executive summary are available at lincoln.ne.gov (keyword: urban). For more information about community development south of downtown, visit lincolnsouthdowntown.org.
