Public Invited to Open House March 1 for South 56th Street Project

Published on February 15, 2023

Lincoln Transportation and Utilities (LTU) invites the public to a public open house Wednesday, March 1, regarding proposed street improvements to South 56th Street from Spruce to Van Dorn streets. The event will be from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Gere Branch Library, 2400 South 56th Street.

The proposed project would improve the pavement along South 56th Street between Spruce and Van Dorn streets to improve street conditions as needed by the current pavement age and condition.

The public is encouraged to make suggestions or express concerns regarding this proposed project. Design information will be displayed, and members of the project team will be available to answer questions and receive comments. Comments will be collected through March 16.

Project design began in fall 2020. Construction may begin as early as Spring 2025 and be completed as early as Winter 2025.
