Parks and Recreation Announces Spring Break Programming

Lincoln Parks and Recreation today announced programming to coincide with the Lincoln Public Schools (LPS) spring break March 11 through 15 and other days school is not in session. Families may register by visiting lincoln.ne.gov/KidsDayOff.

The programs and schedules are as follows: 

  • Kids Day Off: February 16, March 11 through 15, 29, and April 26, 6:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. – Full day programming for youth in kindergarten through fifth grade is available when LPS is not in session at the Belmont Recreation Center, 1234 Judson St., and Calvert Recreation Center, 4600 Stockwell St. Activities include recreational games, arts and crafts, occasional field trips and special events. Children must bring a lunch, drink, and tennis shoes. An afternoon snack will be provided. The fee is $33 per day. 
  • Extreme Teens Kids Week Off: March 11 through 15, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. – Full day programming is available for teenagers in sixth through eighth grades at the “F” Street Community Center, 1225 “F” St. Age appropriate, life enriching activities include leadership skills, nutrition and wellness education, community engagements and exploring healthy lifestyles in the community. Free drop-in is offered from 3 to 7 p.m. A morning snack, afternoon snack and dinner at 4:30 p.m. will be provided. Participants must provide their own lunches. The registration fee is $65.
  • Explorers Spring Nature Camp: March 11 through 15, 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. – Students in kindergarten through fifth grade will enjoy hiking, exploring, and playing outdoors at the Pioneers Park Nature Center. They will learn about ecology, wildlife, and more during this fun-filled week of day camp. Campers will be outside most of each day and must provide lunch, water bottle, and an extra change of clothes and shoes daily. Registration is $210 for the week.
