Open Houses for Two Street Improvement Projects Set for March 11, 12

Lincoln Transportation and Utilities (LTU) invites residents to two open houses in March for upcoming Lincoln on the Move street improvement projects. The schedule is as follows:

  • Monday, March 11, 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., meeting room 1, Eiseley Branch Library, 1530 Superior St. – This Lincoln on the Move quarter-cent sales tax street improvement project will invest in improvements to approximately 1.2 miles of West Highland Boulevard and West Fletcher Avenue. These improvements include a mill and overlay of the existing surface and base repairs where required, public utility adjustments, and inlet top and curb repairs or replacement. The project will also include reconstruction of West Fletcher Avenue at the curve west of Northwest Fourth Street. Additional work with other funding sources includes upgrades to the existing curb ramps to meet federal and local standards. The improvement project is estimated to cost $2.05 million. Construction is expected to begin in spring.

  • Tuesday, March 12, 5 to 7 p.m., multipurpose room via door 5, Everett Elementary School, 1123 “C” St. – This Lincoln on the Move quarter-cent sales tax street improvement project on 11th Street between South and “K” streets includes a mill and overlay of the existing surface and base repairs where required. Additional work with other funding sources will include upgrades to the existing curb ramps to comply with the Federal Americans with Disabilities Act requirements and priority sidewalk repairs. The improvement project is estimated to cost $1.5 million. Construction is expected to begin in spring.

Lincoln on the Move is a six-year street investment effort focused on enhancing Lincoln’s street infrastructure that will dedicate an additional $96 million to street projects in Lincoln through 2025.
