Read to a Dog Spring Session Begins Week of March 3

Lincoln City Libraries (LCL) today invited families to participate in the Read to a Dog program offered by LCL and Healing Heart Therapy Dogs, a local therapy dog organization. The program encourages children ages 5 to 12 to practice their reading by reading to a dog or cat. Therapy teams are partnered with children who read in 20-minute shifts once a week for six weeks.

The spring session runs from the week of March 3 through the week of April 7. Registration is required. To register, contact the person listed for each branch. The schedule is as follows:

  • Anderson Branch Library, 3635 Touzalin Ave., 6 to 7 p.m. Thursdays, March 7 to April 11. Call or text Shannon at 402-310-4151 to register to read to Lola.
  • Bennett Martin Public Library, 136 S. 14th St., 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesdays, March 6 to April 10. Call or text Cindy at 402-432-8289 to register to read to Arlo.
  • Eiseley Branch Library, 1530 Superior St., 6 to 7 p.m. Mondays, March 4 to April 8. Email Tami Rust at manybookstworead@gmail.com to register to read to Snickers.
  • Gere Branch Library, 2400 S. 56th St., 6 to 7:30 p.m.:
