Historic Preservation Design Standards Open House Set for May 8

Published on April 24, 2024

The Lincoln-Lancaster County Planning Department invites residents to an open house Wednesday, May 8, regarding draft Historic Preservation Design Standards. The free event is from 5 to 7 p.m. at Auld Pavilion, 1650 Memorial Drive in Antelope Park.

The open house, which coincides with Historic Preservation Month in May, will provide information about standards concerning types of projects that can be administratively approved, versus projects that require review and approval at a Historic Preservation Commission meeting.

The design standards project will consolidate all guidelines into one easy to understand, illustrated document to streamline reviews and provide a better resource for owners completing exterior projects on historic properties, said Stephanie Rouse, Preservation Planner.

Planning Department staff will be available to answer questions and collect comments. No formal presentation is planned.
