Aging Partners Hosts Nebraska Fort Presentations April 24, 25, 29

Aging Partners invites older adults and the public to attend presentations on Nebraska’s forts in late April. Western history author and lecturer Jeff Barnes will present “Forts of Nebraska” at three Aging Partners Senior Centers.

The schedule is as follows:

  • Wednesday, April 24 at 12:15 p.m. – Hickman Senior Center (Hickman Community Center), 115 Locust St., Hickman, NE
  • Thursday, April 25 at 12:15 p.m. – Bennet Senior Center (American Legion Hall), 970 Monroe St., Bennet, NE
  • Monday, April 29 at 12:15 p.m. – Firth Senior Center (Firth Community Center), 311 Nemaha St., Firth, NE

The presentation is free, but there is a $5 suggested meal contribution for ages 60 and over. Meal reservations must be made two days in advance by calling 402-416-7693. 

Barnes will discuss the history of the state’s 12 military forts and what today’s visitors will find at each site. The presentation is sponsored by Humanities Nebraska.
